Inspirational CEO role – Alastair Swayn Foundation

The Alastair Swayn Foundation is seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Executive Officer to lead this exceptional not-for-profit organisation. Dedicated to advancing Australian architecture and design, the Foundation supports research, education and exhibitions, and fosters industry and international partnerships.

This leadership role offers the chance to build upon the legacy of Alastair Swayn AO, one of Canberra’s most prominent architects, and a passionate advocate for Australian design. Alastair’s vision continues to thrive through the Foundation’s work. Alastair bequeathed his estate to the Foundation prior to his passing in 2016.

The CEO will guide a talented and dynamic team, based in Canberra, to ensure the Foundation’s ongoing impact. Exceptional leadership and a proven ability to inspire and lead are essential for this role.

Bring your capabilities in:

• Strategic and business planning at a high level, alongside strong management and analysis capabilities.
• Experience within not-for-profit organisations, including governance, compliance, and financial oversight.
• Collaborating with Boards of Directors to achieve strategic goals.
• Background in legal or design fields (desirable but not essential).
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and securing funding resources.
• Leading and motivating small, dynamic teams to success.
• Strong communication skills across varied audiences.
