    This team is responsible for providing a wide range of property related services including, facilities management, property technical services and capital works management. The team provides services to internal department clients along with several external government agencies.


    The Position

    The Property Procurement Officer role is responsible for the contract administration of the department’s property contracts. The position is responsible for the development and overseeing of our procurement and contract management projects through to completion while ensuring mandatory reporting obligations are met by achieving open, transparent and accountable purchases and value for money outcomes.


    The role is responsible for leading a team to provide a range of procurement and contract management functions for property related contracts, including performance, payments/funding processes and reporting.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Maintenance of accurate financial records and the timely payment of accounts and invoices and the preparation of financial budgets and management reports
    • Revision of current contract management arrangements in the Team with a view to developing enhanced arrangements to monitor contract life cycle, performance, payments and reporting
    • Management of contractor performance to ensure they are effectively meeting service requirements


    Ideally the applicant will have:

    • Experience in procurement and contract management
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including track record of developing and maintaining productive working relationships with stakeholders
    • Ability to make sound judgments and take initiative to resolve issues
    • Strong organisation, negotiation and problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and internal procurement policies
    • Be motivated, flexible and well-organised
    • Pay attention to detail
